Wheat Beer Racked to Secondary
Brewing April 2nd, 2007Although it may be a bit premature, I decided to rack my wheat beer to a carboy today after only 4 days in the primary fermenter. I noticed that the bubbling had stopped and after checking the final gravity it was already down to 1.018 yesterday and 1.015 today. What may have effected my decision is that I finally received my 5 gallon carboys in the mail and I want to use them. So I racked to the secondary, the beer had a nice sweet smell, if anything a bit acrid which isn’t uncommon and a good reason to get it off that layer of trub in the bottom.
