Cold-brewing is yet another way to make a good cup of coffee. The idea is that the process long, slow, no heat, giving a coffee with less bitterness and acidity than conventional hot water methods. Of course, you probably will not want to drink to warm a winter morning miserable, but to make iced coffee, it's ideal.
The simplest (and traditional New Orleans way) is just to mix a bunch of reasons in cold water and leave it at room temperature for 12 hours. Strain, and you have about 8 cups of concentrate that will keep in the refrigerator for a couple of weeks.

I was so looking forward to this press. Like many of you, I was so tired of breaking the expensive glass carafe. I had tried the Bodum Columbia stainless model, but it tipped over on my counter repeatedly leaving a huge mess. I waited for Bodum to release this model thinking it was the answer to my prayers. It is unbreakable, inexpensive, and the strainer is one piece!! BUT, it doesn’t strain without clogging!! You lose 25% of your brew each pour. The pour is slow and the screen is easily clogged. I have set my grinder to the coarsest grind and it still clogs. I am so disappointed. Worse yet, I contacted Bodum and asked if anyone ever tests these products before release and I have yet to hear from them.
