For those who are intimidated by complex home electronics, Bosch's basic 900-watt coffeemaker brews up to 12 cups of java and requires no programming besides flipping the power switch on. The unit has special brewing and aroma systems that bring out excellent flavor in coffee. Ground coffee goes in the nondrip insert filter, which takes No. 4 paper filters and removes easily for rinsing by hand or running through the dishwasher. A water-level indicator is visible from both sides of the coffeemaker for monitoring the number of cups that are brewing. Coffee brews through the closed lid of the included glass carafe without spilling, for more convenient serving. Removing the carafe during brewing activates the brewing pause feature, which prevents coffee from dripping until the carafe is back on its plate.
